Ah, Thursday!

      Well I forgot to write yesterday, but that's ok because it was pretty boring and today was better. :) Today I went to classes and did all that jazz and then went grocery shopping. After grocery shopping I went for a run again. I have to keep the running up, it feels so nice to exercise. After running I made home made chicken noodle soup. It was sooo good. My roommate tried some and was really impressed too! Then I finished my 365 homework for this week. It was a pretty productive day all in all. I have some pictures for you too! The first is of the possum that visited our class last Friday and the second is of my yummy soup! :)

   

It's Tuesday again, where has the time gone...

     I can't believe it's Tuesday and March is almost done. I even have two projects due next week along with an exam. Good thing I've been ahead on my work and don't have much to do for either of them. :) This week so far has been pretty average, except that my internet at home has all but completely stopped working. Hopefully it will be back home soon. Adam was nice enough to register for my classes for me this morning when I called him worried about it. He's my savior today. I got all my classes in that I need for next semester. I'll only be taking 12 credits for the first time ever. They'll be very hard credits though which is scary. Eek. I almost want to take an easy class or two as a GPA buffer. I may. I'll have to look into that. Well, that's all the news I got. Have a great Tuesday!

Lazy Saturday

     Well surfing never happened.. oh well. Ben is in the process of moving and Joel ended up having to work so it'll just have to wait until next weekend. Instead today I just slept a lot, I guess I had a lot of sleep I needed to catch up on. Once I woke up I watched Jurassic Park and some TV shows. I wasn't at all productive like I wanted to be, but it was really nice to relax. I'll have to be productive tomorrow. Night :)

Friday!

     So, I've been forgetful again.. my bad. Here's the lowdown of my week so far. On Wednesday night I went to the premier of the Hunger Games with Matt and some friends. It was really good. The cinematography of the movie was awesome as well. It was a pretty fun night. Yesterday I ended up catching up on a lot of homework I'd been neglecting. That was good. I'd been procrastinating to much. Tonight I'm going with Ben to a 'where's Waldo' party for Civil Engineers. I know I'm not a civil, but he's been coming with me to all my Mechanical Engineering stuff, so I figure I can go with him to this. Plus it should be fun! Surfing this weekend may have been canceled :(. I'm sad about that. But it's ok because I need to save up money for Bali anyways. Maybe a weekend of relaxing and school work will be good for me. :)

Tuesday!

     Well today was a day for overcoming struggles, that's for sure. One thing after another seemed to go wrong, but in the end I ended up accomplishing a lot. I got a decent amount of homework done today which I was very excited about. I also did actually meet up with Ed and Teo today, yay! I also booked my flight to Bali for Easter break. That was the BIGGEST hassle. First it was too expensive so I couldn't afford it, then I found a flight that was $150 cheaper and my internet wouldn't load the page. After much begging the internet to work it finally did :). I'm so excited for a week off in Bali! It'll be amazing! That about sums up today, Night.

P.S. Grandma, don't worry about surfing, we're beginners so we won't even go out in deep water and we'll stay between the flags. The lifeguards always watch between the flags and there's no undercurrent there. :)

Monday!

     Oh Monday! Today I had my 8am thermo lecture and then was gunna meet up with a few friends to do homework afterwards. It turned out they both had meetings at eleven, so I decided to do some homework in the meantime and wait around for them. At noon I texted them both, one had gone home not realizing we were meeting (mis-communication) and the other never responded. I waited another half hour before giving up on him. After that I went home and went for a run. It was really nice. It was after my run that I realized I may have entered his phone number in when I added him yesterday, and sure enough, I had switched around two numbers. I felt like such a jerk after that for accidentally standing him up and being angry for thinking he had stood me up. Oh, what a mishap.
      I did decide upon some things today at least, like that I'm not going to New Zealand for Easter break anymore, but rather to Bali with my friend Pat. That should be fun. I'm also going surfing on Saturday (you can rent a surfboard for the day for only $25) and going to the premier of the hunger games on Wednesday night(I found a place were it's only $6.50 instead of $16 like before). It should be a good week :)

Weekend time!

     Wow, I'm sorry I've been so bad at writing. I'll go over the days day by day. haha. and I'll try to be better next week.
     Ok, Thursday. Thursday was pretty boring but really productive. It was the first day I actually think I did homework at home. I got a lot of my lab report written which was such a load off. Other than that it was just a normal boring Thursday :).
     Friday! On Friday me and Ben went out the RE Hotel for the Mechanical Engineering Student Society get together. It was sooo much fun! I met a lot of really awesome people there and recognized some people from the first Engineering get together. It was just a really good time. The only bad thing that happened that night was this weird guy started talking to me, luckily about 10 minutes after he started talking to me when I was having trouble getting away from him they said the event was over so it was time to go home anyways. It worked out really well for me. :)
     Yesterday I finished what I could of my thermo lab report and then went over to my friend Joel's place to hang out. We had a lot of fun. We tryed to make different kinds of cocktails to see what they were like, but it didn't really work to well, so we just ended up going out to get cabobs. They were delicious!
      Today I went with Ben and Joel to shave Ben's head for a cure in the city. While we were down town they gave me a tour of the QUT campus as well. We had a good time. I have pictures of that for you :)! Enjoy!

Woops...

     Im sorry!  Ive been totally forgetting to write. Thats ok though, I guess because nothing exciting has happened at all. Just school. Today me and my teammates worked on a project all day for one class.  That was pretty fun.  We got to use an anechoic chamber (its a chamber where all of the sound is absobed by the walls and None is reflected).  That was really cool.  It redefines your definition of silent. Its so quiet it hurts your ears. 
     We tested a bunch of different sounds in there. Me screaming was the loudest sound we recorded. I had to scream like 10 times to get the readings we needed though. I dont think im going to sound so good in choir tonight. Haha. We also did some other tests around campus. I thought the whole thing was a lot of fun.  :)
      Soon free dance lessons start which im giving a try before choir. It should be a fun night. :)  haha, all the base are out tonight too again...  They have the most annoying squeek.  I wish I could recoded it for you..  So annoying. Well, ill try to keep remembering to write. Cheers!

We finally went North!

      Sorry again for forgetting to write! I've been so awful at remembering. Thursday was a pretty boring day. I went to classes, came home, and well, that about sums it up. haha. Friday was a little more exciting. One, because I had a great time in my acoustics class with my two lab partners who are hilarious, and two, because I went to my friend Mitch's birthday party that night. It was a really relaxed get together and really fun. Mitch is such a nice guy!
     Today me, Ben and Sara finally went to a beach up north! I loved it. It was so beautiful!! We went up to Noosa and walked along the path they have in their small national park there. It was so nice, we stopped and swam in a few places. Near the end of our hike we found this beautiful beach, it was so gorgeous! Once we walked a ways down it we found out that it was a nude beach. Well not fully nude, most people were fully clothed but there were a few naked guys wandering around. For the first time I was VERY grateful for my bad eyesight because as long as we were swimming all I could see of the naked people was yellow blobs. haha. I kept thinking of uncle Ward too and him telling me I had to go to a nude beach and get him pictures. Well I did just for you Ward (well it was pretty much on accident) and I even have one picture of two gay guys together down at the bottom for you. Don't worry, you can't see anything. haha. Guess I can cross that off my list of things to do in Australia now. When it started getting dark we made our way back to the car. It was a fairly long walk through a residential area back, but it was so nice out I didn't really mind. It was just a beautiful day! I always want to go north to the beaches!

Wonderful Wednesday!

     Yesterday was a pretty fun day.  I only had 3 hours of classes and they really weren't hard classes either. They were the classes where you work together on homework so they weren't bad at all. 
     In the evening i decided to go to the engineering get together at the fox (its a pub/hotel in town).  Noone wanted to go to the engineering thing with me though so I ended up going alone.  I think that it was good for me because I met a lot of people and had a lot of fun on my own.  Ben came at 9:30 which was nice.  We hung out there until 11 and then headed home.  It was a good night.

Trivia Tuesday!

     Today was a pretty weird day. I woke up and got to talk to my grandma and grandpa for like an hour. That was really nice. I haven't talked to them in a few weeks. Grandpa is doing well as well. Then I headed off to class. I had an hour break and talked to Adam for the whole hour.
     After class today I came back home and then started watching the social network. Ben had given me the movie on Sunday. Then me, Ben, and Sarah went to some place (I don't remember where) for Tuesday Trivia. It was so much fun! We ended up getting last place, but oh well. How am I supposed to know who on the wallabies rugby team is nicknamed Noddy. haha. It was good times though. Cheers!

Amazing Weekend Number 2 :)

      Well, ok, Saturday was pretty boring, but Sunday more than made up for it. :) On Saturday I mostly just sat around and worked on catching up on ME375 lectures. I also started reading a book series Matt suggested called the Hunger Games. I finished that today. It was SOO sad. I do not suggest reading it unless you enjoy crying. I do have to admit that it was an amazing series though. But I digress. That's most of what I did on Saturday.
      On Sunday we again ventured south down and over to the coast. We were a little further south this time and at Coolengatta at a surf competition. It was AMAZING! It was soo cool to see how surf competitions work. So cool. The Aussie ended up winning which made the competition that much better. The weather and waves were perfect when we went swimming as well. Idk if my friend Ben isn't very bright or if he was just suffering from an attack of very bad judgement, but he let me drive his car for over 2 hours!! I drove in Australia! Don't worry, I was very good and didn't crash at all. I did turn onto the right side once but there were no cars coming so it was ok. We got so lost though while I was driving. I had no idea where I was and Ben just kept picking roads to go down. haha. After 45 minutes we finally decided to just use the GPS to get home. I even got to drive on the M1 on the way home! That's one of there major interstates here. It was just soo cool.
      Today I had class early in the morning and then finished my book like I said. I also finished most of my 375 homework in one go tonight as well. After all the trouble that it was last week I'm very excited about being able to do that. Hopefully the easier homework will continue. Classes here haven't really picked up too much here yet and I'm hoping that they don't too soon. I'm loving my lazy schedule right now. Oh well, I guess school is why I came here right?

First Week of School Finished!

      Yesterday was a pretty good day of school. I had some more lectures but most were just introductory again. After I got home me and my roommates hung out for a long time. That was really nice, I enjoyed getting to know them all better. Then as a group we headed to the Valley, the 'hip' part of town. It was a pretty good nice.
      Today in classes we started covering actual topics which was refreshing. I even have some homework now.. which isn't quite as nice but it had to happen eventually. I also found out today that I did actually really well on my last 375 exam that I thought I had done horribly on. I was really really glad about that. Hopefully the next two exams will go just as well. Tonight I'm heading over to my friends Michelle's house to hang out. Should be fun. Cheers!
